Have you ever gone places where you see the same strangers all the time? You recognize them because you’ve see them at church every week or at that coffee shop you go to every Monday. Yet you never have a reason to strike up a conversation with them. The title of the piece came from this observation. Originally, I started out re-harmonizing the jazz standard I’ll Remember April, but the arrangement eventually morphed into an entirely new piece with different grooves and a different melody.
